Event Funding Opportunities
The Center for British & Irish Studies invites applications from CU Boulder faculty, staff, and students who are planning to host an event related to the academic study of global British & Irish history, society, and culture as part of the course and scope of their duties for CU. (RSO’s may not apply.)
A description of the mission of the Center for British & Irish Studies can be found here.
The Center may contribute up to $2,000 to support one-off academic events, such as lectures, readings, recitals, and conferences.
These grants may only be used for
- Honoraria (which must be processed by a department's finance manager)
- CU catering services (https://www.colorado.edu/eventsplanning/catering),
- The use of the British & Irish Studies Room. (Booking the CBIS Room is done separately and requires following the procedures outlined in https://www.colorado.edu/center/british-irish-studies/cbis-room. Events need not take place in the CBIS Room, but must be held on the CU Boulder campus.)
Requests are considered on a rolling basis from August 15 – April 1. Funding is not guaranteed, either in toto or in part.
Complete applications consist of the application form along with the required appendices, including the budget template. They must be submitted at least two months prior to the start of the event to the Executive Director of CBIS at cbis@colorado.edu. Submissions are accepted from August 15 to April 1.
