Wafae Bouallala

Wafae Bouallala is an architect and an aspiring planner. She obtained her Architect Diploma at “Ecole Nationale d’Architecture” (Morocco) in 2014 and launched her professional career in 2015 as a central government employee. In 2016, she was admitted to the “Institut National d’Aménagement et d’Urbanisme” (Morocco) to pursue her PhD studies in urban and regional planning. Wafae joined CEDaR in December 2019 as a visiting research scholar after being awarded the Fulbright Joint Supervision Scholarship 2019-2020.

Wafae’s work focuses mainly on the informal economy and its spatial interaction with the city. Her current work explores the urban dynamics of informal markets in the Moroccan context combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. 

She speaks Arabic, French, English and Spanish and enjoys working in multicultural teams.
