Víctor Manuel Gómez holds a Bachelors. and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. In 2020, he received the Summa Cum Laude distinction for his thesis, "The Student’s House: The Domestic Space of the Marcel Breuer Residence Halls in North America." His academic achievements earned him the Faculty of Architecture’s Scholarship of Excellence, through which he served as a teaching assistant for courses in architectural history, collective housing design, and modernist theory. He has also been a recurring guest lecturer in the Master’s in Architecture program; leading discussions on project representation, research methodology, and the relationship between buildings and their surroundings.
As a researcher, Víctor has been an active member of the Estudios de Arquitectura y Urbanística research group at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, contributing to the published study Re-Habitación de Estructuras and the ongoing research project Pensamiento Puesto en Obra.
Víctor’s professional experience spans multiple scales and project stages, in architecture firms in both Colombia and the United States. One of his professional highlights was working for the Medellín government as part of the Mobility and Planning Department. In this role, he contributed to projects focused on improving cycling infrastructure, urban mobility, and public spaces. His work has played a role in urban renewal initiatives, using visual representation as a tool to enhance project communication and community engagement in city planning.
