2021 Fall Forum for Manufactured Home Owners

Approximately ___ participants attended the fourth annual manufactured housing forum which took place Dec. 4, 2021 virtually this year because of the ongoing pandemic.

Attendees and presenters of the 2021 Fall Forum for Manufactured Home Owners included manufactured home (MH) owners and advocates from across the state, as well as state legislators, including Rep. Edie Hooten, who was the prime sponsor for three powerful MH bills that are now law;  9to5 Colorado, an organization that helps MH park residents; and attorneys from nonprofits Colorado Poverty Law Project and Alpine Legal Services as well as many other nonprofit organizations, city council members and county commisioners, planners, academics and policy analysts.

The forum was hosted by the Colorado Coalition of Manufactured Home Owners (CoCoMHO), with partial funding and support from the city of Boulder.

During the "Organizing for Local Policy Change" breakout session, Professor Brian Muller, director of the Community Engagement, Design and Research Center (CEDaR), shared his preliminary research findings regarding successful organizing efforts in MH communities, such as when residents purchase their MH parks, and the barriers to success.

Created by MH residents for MH residents, CoCoMHO was founded in 2017 to provide yearly forums, resources and other ways of helping MH residents address a wide range of their concerns, including the increasingly worsening situations that some MH residents face across the state.
