NVC

New Venture Challenge Championships

This is the final round of the New Venture Challenge (NVC). NVC gives aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to build a startup through entrepreneurial events and programming, community support, mentorship and ultimately, funding. Participants represent majors and departments from across the university. From undergraduates to graduates, PhD candidates to postdocs, and faculty to staff, everyone is invited to pitch their idea.

Nicole Gunderson is a junior in the Biomedical Engineering Program who is studying human-robot interactions for applications in surgical robots. She is currently conducting research on the development of a novel-path planning algorithm for autonomous vehicles.

IRT Research Blitz and Poster Session

  • Today, April 12. from 3 - 5 p.m.
  • Gallogly Discovery Learning Center
  • The college will host an event featuring work from the Interdisciplinary Research Themes, including presentations from IRT directors and a poster session from faculty and students. Advance registration is requested.

RSO Office of Naval Research webinar

  • Wednesday, April 13 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.
  • Tom Drake, the department head for Ocean Battlespace and Expeditionary Access, ​will present an overview of basic research needs and opportunities to support the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The virtual general session will be followed by breakout sessions with additional program managers.

Two-day COSINC workshop

  • Thursday, April 21-22 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
  • The Colorado Shared Instrumentation in Nanofabrication and Characterization (COSINC) facility is hosting a two-day workshop and training session on Material 3D-Nanofabrication and Characterization. Registration is open to students, staff and faculty. 

RISE IRT offering summer seed grants 

  • The Resilient Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity research theme is offering condensed fellowship/seed grants of $10,000, available to faculty affiliates, post-docs or graduate students to fund pilot projects and research activities related to the three themes of the IRT.
  • Funds should be spent from May 20 - Aug. 20. Proposals are due on April 30.
