Participants will learn how to utilize the heart/brain connection to regulate heart rhythms to immediately address their emotional state in challenging situations, while building coherence and resilience, decreasing stress and improving mental and physical performance.

CU Boulder Days of Compassion is a series of events over three days, Oct. 9-11, that invite you to contemplate and practice compassion in community. The University Libraries, the Renée Crown Wellness Institute and the Contemplative Resource Center bring you this series in celebration of the 23-24 Buffs One Read, The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World.

Pui Fong Kan, associate professor of speech, language and hearing sciences leads this speaking engagement that explores the benefits of bilingualism, specifically the advantages of learning a home language. Many bilingual individuals in the United States learn a home language (also known as a "minority language") at home (e.g., Spanish) and use English in school settings. Maintaining a home language can have numerous benefits, such as facilitating English learning, improving academic performance, fostering identity, and enhancing overall well-being.
