Check in with a CAPS counselor for an informal consultation. Note: Let’s Talk does not provide crisis services and is not a substitute for mental health treatment. 

 

  • Day: Tuesdays
  • Time: 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Location: College Recovery Community (UMC 414)
  • Facilitator: Matthew Biel, LMFT

Note: This session is geared toward responsible gambling, but is open to all.

  • Day: Wednesdays
  • Time: 2-3 p.m.
  • Location: Center for Inclusion and Social Change (C4C, N320)

Let's Talk Psychiatry

Check in with a CAPS counselor to discuss medication options and get more information about medications or psychiatric care.

Please note: This service is only open to students who are not currently taking medications to manage their mental health. 

*Let's Talk Psychiatry will be available late fall 2024.

 

What to expect

Before coming to Let’s Talk, consider the following questions: 

  • What is the main issue you want to discuss? 
  • What kinds of resources might be helpful to discuss? 

Here are a few additional things to keep in mind about Let’s Talk. 

Let’s Talk is a good option if you: 

  • Aren’t sure about counseling. 
  • Aren’t interested in ongoing counseling but would like to speak with a counselor. 
  • Have a specific problem you would like to talk to someone about. 

Let’s Talk is not a good option if you: 

  • Are in a crisis or need immediate support. 
  • Want ongoing mental health support. 
  • Are seeking court mandated treatment or legal advice.
