Yi Wei is the Director of iDE’s Global WASH Initiative. Yi has been a part of the Global WASH team since its inception and has been instrumental in growing the Cambodian flagship sanitation program to the largest rural sanitation marketing program to date. She has also played a pivotal role in replicating the market-based approach across five other countries in Asia and Africa. Her areas of expertise include market-based development, human-centered design, microfinance, and social entrepreneurship. Yi has a B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard University and is a Civic Scholar at UChicago Booth’s MBA program. She was once an aspiring professional percussionist, having shared the stage with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma, Bela Fleck, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In her spare time, she likes to spend time in the mountains with her bernedoodle, Allan, and play board games with friends.
