Yi is a social innovator passionately dedicated to making the world a better place by bringing together great ideas, stellar people, and aligning incentives to achieve maximum positive impact. Her vision of perfect is a day in which the term "social business" is redundant. With expertise in human centered design, microfinance, and social entrepreneurship, Yi has been a part of iDE’s work in sanitation, clean water, and hygiene since its inception. She was instrumental in growing the Cambodian flagship sanitation program to be the largest improved rural sanitation program delivering improved latrines in the sector to date. She has also played a pivotal role in replicating the market-based approach across 6 other country programs in Asia and Africa. Now as Director for the program, she is ready to guide it to even more impressive achievements. Yi has a B.A. from Harvard University, and was once an aspiring professional percussionist, having shared the stage with the likes of Yo-Yo Ma, Bela Fleck, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She aspires to remain forever curious and is always up for an adventure.
