Laura Burns

Laura joined Water For People in 2015 as their Regional Program Officer for Africa and Asia, and then held the same position for Latin America, and is now the Senior Manager-WASH Financing and Sustainability. Laura supports Water For People’s nine country programs on sustainability initiatives, while also supporting Water For People’s new Strategic Advisory Services on technical assignments, specifically around district planning and financing.  Prior to Water For People, Laura worked in Colombia with Grameen Foundation to link smallholder farmers to the market and information on best agricultural practices using mobile technology. She received an M.A. in International Development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and a B.A. in International Studies, Spanish, and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
