Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants are key ways that university spinouts and innovation firms fund the early development and commercialization of their technologies. To highlight the strategic use of these programs, the Center for Translational Research holds dynamic conferences featuring experts across the Colorado and national innovation ecosystem.
SBIR/STTR Writing Workshop
June 25-Aug. 13
Virtual Event
In this workshop series hosted by the Center for Translational Research (CTR), companies will draft and submit Phase I SBIR/STTR applications. Selected teams will meet weekly for six weeks to draft, critique, workshop and optimize their applications, poised and ready to submit by the end of the workshop.
Sessions will be held virtually once a week. However, companies are expected to dedicate 10-20 hours outside of this time to their applications and all associated activities. SBIR/STTR grants are estimated to take 80-150 hours to complete, and many companies fall short of dedicating the time and resources necessary to succeed. Through this workshop, we aim to provide a space, a structure, a community and the guidance to draft the best proposals. While the workshop supports applications to any SBIR/STTR agency, it is critical to know the desired agency and SBIR solicitation that you are pursuing prior to starting.
Dates and times
All sessions are 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. MT on June 25, July 9, 16 and 30, Aug. 6 and 13.
