Danny McGee

Danny McGee grew up on the East coast near Washington, DC and went to college for civil engineering at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. After Tufts he worked as a project manager for Whiting-Turner, a construction management company. Two years later he left the job to lead a 32-person bike trip across the United States to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. After the bike trip, he moved West to join the Wyoming Conservation Corps as a crew leader. In 2010 he returned to school at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he received a Master’s degree in Building Systems Engineering. Through his master’s work and later after graduation, Danny was heavily involved in the University’s Sustainable Tribal Housing Project. He now lives in Grand Rapids, MI where he holds two jobs, one as a sustainability consultant for small businesses and another job as the Director of Sustainability for a non-profit the provides housing to the homeless.
