Bert Jaquez

My name is Roberto Jaquez.  I live in Pine Ridge, SD.  I am 18 years old and a recent high school graduate.  I was born in Sioux Falls, SD and I am the middle child of 5 siblings.  In the beginning I lived at my grandpa’s house in Oglala, SD with my mother and older sister, when he passed away in 2000 we moved to Sioux City IA.  We lived there until my mom lost her job in 2008 so we came  back to Pine Ridge and I started middle school.  It was an adjustment for me school wise because we were being taught something different in Sioux City but I got through it and graduated 8th grade and made most of my friends from there.  Then I went to high school at Pine Ridge High School and graduate and now I am ready for the next step in my education.
