Illenium will headline the annual Welcomefest Concert taking place on Farrand Field on Saturday, Aug. 20. K.Flay, 888 and Slow Caves are slated to open. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. The annual Welcomefest Concert is sponsored by Program Council.

Stravinsky’s century-old masterpiece “The Rite of Spring” and Miles Davis’ landmark “Birth of the Cool” are on the program at a free Boettcher Concert Hall showcase on April 26, featuring performances by CU-Boulder’s College of Music ensembles and children from El Sistema Colorado.

<p>Each year, CU-Boulder dance students and faculty come together for “The Current,” an annual showcase of brand-new pieces. This year’s performances take place April 15-17 and feature evocative, original work by dance professors Erika Randall and Donna Mejia, lecturer Larry Southall, alumna Megan Odom and Roser Guest Artist Faye Driscoll.</p>

<p>Hip-hop artist Tory Lanez, best known for his hit "Say It," will perform on March 29, at 8:30 p.m. at CU-Boulder's Glenn Miller Ballroom. Doors for the event, sponsored by CU-Boulder's Program Council, will open at 8 p.m. Student tickets are $15 and tickets for the public are $25. All guests will need a printed ticket and valid form of photo identification to enter.</p>

<p>The madcap jukebox musical “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” set in a rock ‘n’ roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.</p>

<p>CU Presents’ 2015-16 season continues with the first ever Boulder performance by Los Angeles-based dance company BODYTRAFFIC. The group is set to present three contemporary pieces inspired by urban life from all around the world on Sunday, Feb. 14.</p>

<p>Rennie Harris and his dynamic dance company, Grass Roots Project, will present the hip-hop-inspired “Beautiful Human Lies” at CU-Boulder’s Irey Theatre Feb. 12-14. Harris, a regular guest artist at CU-Boulder, is widely recognized as the world’s foremost choreographer of hip-hop and street dance theater. </p>

CU-Boulder instructor Lynn Nichols, former general manager of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, is set to direct an on-campus production of “The Winter’s Tale,” Jan. 27-31, at CU-Boulder’s Loft Theatre. The all-student cast brings William Shakespeare’s timeless tragicomedy to life with vintage costumes and interactive staging.<br /><br /></div></div>

<p>The Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir choir will illuminate South African life through music, singing and dancing on Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m., in Macky Auditorium.</p>
