For the past five years, Sydney has dedicated her professional career to educating, assessing and transforming social environments. With a background in social psychology, Sydney has served in research and teaching positions at The University of Michigan, NYU-Langone/Bellevue Hospital, Virginia Tech and Fordham University, exploring how identity and socialization shape psychological outcomes. Now at CU, Sydney continues this work, integrating analytics and storytelling into advocacy for students, staff and faculty. Sydney holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Educational Equity, Justice and Social Transformation from the University of Michigan, where she most recently instructed an undergraduate course on intergroup dialogue facilitation. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside, traveling, writing music, painting and engaging in sustainable living.

Professional and research interests: Sydney’s research interests include intergroup relations, equity-minded assessment, critical and engaged pedagogy, social ecology, positive psychology and socioemotional development.
