Becket has been in higher education for more than 10 years across academic and student affairs. He has worked with students while serving in roles in Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Conduct, Academic Advising, Educational Research and Student Life & Involvement. He uses a social constructivist paradigm to guide his research along with quantitative and qualitative geospatial data to validate his findings. His goal is to ensure students and local residents are treated equitably within a dynamic higher education environment. He graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education, and from the University of Denver with a Ph.D. in Higher Education. You can find him running along the roads and mountains in Boulder, fly-fishing, playing videogames, skiing with his wife (Devon), and rooting for his favorite sports teams (the Royals and Packers). 

Professional and research interests: Regional public universities, neoliberalism, public affairs, university-community relationships, anchor institutions, geospatial data, Critical Race Theory, place and space, fraternity and sorority life, academic advising, mixed methods research.
