5 ways to make the most of fall this year

The colors of changing leaves, chilly weather, Halloween—there’s a lot to love about the fall season in Colorado! From places to go and things to do, here are some ways to make the most of this fall season.

Take a walk along Boulder Creek

Grab a warm apple cider or pumpkin spice latte from a local coffee shop, and enjoy the changing leaves along the Boulder Creek Path. This beautiful, 5.5-mile long path runs near campus and all of the way to Boulder canyon.

Check out the Boulder Farmers Market

In the mood for some fresh, organic goods? Located near Pearl Street, at the Boulder Farmers Market you can shop from local vendors and enjoy delicious seasonal food and browse through regular artisan craft shows. Be sure to make a reservation before you attend.

Discover the best fall drink

‘Tis the season for all things warm. Visit and support your local coffee shop and try out some of their fall drinks. To make it an even greater adventure, plan to visit three to four over the course of a week and have a vote on which serves the best pumpkin latte or other fall drink.

Cozy up with the night sky

Did you know October will have two full moons instead of one? The second happens on the 31st of the month - talk about a spooky Halloween. If that’s too scary, indulge in a meteor shower escape. The Northern Taurids meteor shower will happen the night of Nov. 11 into Nov. 12 and the Leonids on the night of Nov. 16 into Nov. 17.

Make your own fall decorations

As the autumn leaves find a new place on the ground, there is no better time to make use of them than now. Find a time to go and collect a few of your favorite shapes, colors and sizes. Then, use wax paper to preserve them and voilá, you’ve got your own home decor. You can also make your own fall scented candles to make this season a cozy one.
