Compliance Corner: Gift card purchases

To purchase gift cards, each department must have written procedures in place to provide proper internal control over the gift cards. At a minimum, this procedure should address custody, security, receipt or issuance, and an audit log. The full statement can be found here.

Departments must also complete a Gift Card Authorization Request (GC) Form and submit to the campus controller’s office for review and approval. It is advised to allow two weeks for this process to be complete, and do not purchase the gift cards until you receive an approved form back from the Controller’s Office.

There is an exception to the gift card form if the purchase is 1-2 cards intended as a recognition gift or as part of a previously approved HR recognition progam. The exception is to the form only, not the overall gift card policy including the written procedure described above. UMC and CSI win in ACUI Steal This Idea competition

Deadline extended: Campus Sustainability Award nominations

The deadline for 2019 Campus Sustainability award submissions has been extended to March 8, 2019. Every year, the Campus Sustainability Awards recognize and honor individuals and departments who have made an outstanding contribution to advancing sustainability on the CU Boulder campus.
