Honors
This system allows members of AED to graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder with AED honors recognition. This is not the same as the honors program through the College of Arts and Sciences (or whichever school you are in), through which you have the opportunity to graduate cum laude, summa cum laude, or magna cum laude. That is only achieved through a combination of writing a thesis and GPA. Through AED, you have the opportunity to wear an honor cord at graduation and to be a part of an important national honor society. Below is a list of ways that you can accumulate points in order to achieve this recognition. You must accumulate 1,000 points to graduate with honors. Honor cords will be presented to those members who are able to achieve this at the pledge initiation banquet for the year that they reach 1,000 points. Depending on your membership status, you may or may not be eligible to receive points in all of these areas. Please note: points will be docked (equal to the amount you would have earned) if you commit to an activity and fail to complete it! Other activities can be rewarded with the discretion of the secretary.
