Student Affairs staff have the opportunity to join a division-wide mentorship program for the 2023-24 academic year. Staff can apply to be either a mentor to someone in the division or be mentored by a Student Affairs professional.
The Student Affairs Mentorship Program provides career and professional development opportunities for staff, whether they serve as a mentor or a mentee. Both roles will help staff develop skills they need to progress in the next steps of their career.
Staff who participate in the program will make strong connections and grow professionally. Participants will also receive swag items, meal cards for monthly meetings and more.

The Student Affairs Mentorship Program first launched in fall 2021. Staff who participated in the program’s first year found value in meeting regularly and getting to know others from across the division.
Applications for mentors and mentees will open July 2023. Pairs will be matched based on the application responses for professional goals and interests. Mentors and mentees will receive training, resources and support from the Employee Engagement Commitment Committee program administrators.
Mentorships will begin September 2023 and end May 2024. At the beginning of the program, mentors and mentees will complete and sign an agreement outlining expectations for the academic year. Mentors and mentees should meet at a minimum for one hour each month, and meal cards will be provided for meeting on campus. Discussion topic suggestions for meetings will be provided, but meeting topics should be based around mentee goals.
