Celebrate your colleagues with Kazoo
It’s a common practice for staff in the Division of Student Affairs to share kudos and express gratitude for each other. The Kazoo online platform is one more way for staff to celebrate each other and help us build a culture of recognition and engagement.
With Kazoo, you can:
- Celebrate colleagues by sharing recognition with points, both publicly or privately.
- Receive recognition and points from colleagues.
- Redeem your recognition points for rewards.
All Student Affairs staff can now access the Kazoo platform to share recognition. Here are some benefits for using Kazoo and tips for getting started on the platform this week.
Reasons to use Kazoo
Recognition is a key aspect of staff engagement. Sharing and receiving appreciation from others helps increase feelings of belonging and connection. This practice also aligns with our Student Affairs Staff Engagement Philosophy.
Each staff member has a balance of points to share with colleagues in your department, our division and across campus. Points balances reset quarterly.
Staff are encouraged to share recognition often to celebrate each other and the work we do. Examples of recognition could include milestones like birthdays and work anniversaries, or showing appreciation for those who have:
- Taken on additional work shifts or responsibilities.
- Gone above and beyond to help out a student or colleague.
- Collaborated with others to achieve a goal or complete a project.
In addition to receiving points and recognition from colleagues, staff can earn points by completing incentive activities. This includes volunteering, attending campus events and more. Stay tuned for new incentives that will be announced each quarter!
Points can then be redeemed for rewards. There are both monetary rewards (retail gift cards, food gift cards) and non-monetary rewards (additional leave time, donating points to charity, “buying” more points to use for peer recognition).
How to share your first recognition this week
Take time to explore Kazoo this week and share your first recognition.
- Visit colorado.kazoohr.com and log in with your IdentiKey. There’s also a free Kazoo mobile app for Android and Apple devices. Once you’ve downloaded the app, enter “colorado” for the company URL and log in with your IdentiKey.
- Click on the “Send Recognition” button on the top of the Activity Feed.
- Complete the form with the recipient’s name and recognition message. Remember, public recognition posts will be visible on the department and division’s Kazoo feed for all users within that group.
- Assign a points value for each person that you’re sharing recognition with. Your points balance to send is available in the “Your Wallet” tile on the right side of the screen.
- Complete the remainder of the form and select “Send Recognition.”

Please note: The Kazoo Employee Experience platform may be inaccessible to individuals who use assistive technologies (AT) and alternative forms of access.
