Are you or your child interested in participating in a research study on mood and behavior?

The Research on Affective Disorders and Development Lab has two upcoming research studies:

  1. Research on the effects of CBD on mood and behavior among young adults ages 18 to 30.
  2. Research on cognitive abilities, brain networks, and emotional wellbeing among adolescents ages 13-16.

The CBDx study includes a few different parts:

  • You will answer short twice-daily surveys for 6 weeks on your mobile device.
  • You will complete three in-person research visits, each including an interview about life experiences, a set of computer games, a blood draw, and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scan.
  • You will select and use a CBD product for up to 6 weeks.

The study takes place over the course of 6 weeks and you will be compensated for your participation (up to $1,038 for completing all parts of the study).

The RRAY study is a two-year study that includes two visits to our laboratory in Boulder, each lasting about six hours. During these visits your child will:

  • Be interviewed about life experiences, complete computer games that involve paying attention and learning, and have a neuroimaging scan.
  • They will also complete a set of online surveys and a brief telephone interview once every three months (nine times total during the two-year study participation).
  • At the end of the study, your child will have a final telephone interview, lasting about two hours.

Participants can earn up to $1,335 for their time and effort completing all parts of the study.
