Bio: Agnes grew up in Lower Austria, near Vienna, Austria. She completed her PhD in 2019 at the University of Vienna with Dr. Jürg Schönenberger, working on the pollination biology and floral evolution of the Neotropical tribe Merianieae (Melastomataceae). Agnes is collaborating with Dr. Smith as a post-doctoral fellow on a new project investigating the abiotic and biotic drivers of diversification in Merianieae, using phylogenetic comparative methods, niche modelling and buzz-pollination experiments. Agnes’s work is funded through the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). You can read more about her projects here.
