Muggle Magic: The Science of Harry Potter (Grades 3-6)

Welcome to Hogwarts! In this program, budding witches and wizards will get an introduction to Mendelian genetics and then explore the magic that surrounds us every day. Join your fellow wizards-in-training as we learn the science behind Hogwarts charms and potions. We’ll learn how to make different liquids change color with pH, make things disappear and reappear using polymers, and show off colorful flames using salts! Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the science behind Harry’s wizarding feats – it’s sure to be a magical time.

Group size: Up to 30 students
Grades: 3-6
Cost: 

  • $190 set-up fee
  • 1 to 3 sessions on the same day: $120 per session. A fourth or fifth session in the same day is $155 per session. 
  • $30 layover fee per hour when any two programs more than one hour apart. 
  • Travel fees are generally waived for nearby schools. Additional travel fees may be incurred on a case-by-case basis. 
  • Discounts available based on financial need and availability of funds.
