John Newton

Originally from Northeast UK, John has lived in Amsterdam for almost a decade. He holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology & Society, specializing in Transpersonal Psychology and critical approaches to Psychology. Previously he worked as a facilitator of legal psychedelic retreats and has co-hosted residencies internationally exploring contemplative practices. He has trained extensively in the Buddhist insight meditation tradition and recently completed a foundation training in Psychotherapy & Counselling at Regents University London. His current research interests include mysticism and the senses, cinema, cultural psychoanalysis, and the imaginal. In his free time he records original fingerstyle guitar music, and experiments with perfume composition.
