Professor Sam Boyd Wins Society of Biblical Literature Award

Professor Boyd has been awarded the prestigious Regional Scholar Award by the Society of Biblical Literature for 2016.  The award recognizes promising scholars in the field of Biblical Studies.  The award is given based on two rounds of competition.  The first round consists of a presentation delivery at a SBL regional meeting, and the second round consists of the 11 regional representatives competing nationally based partly on the presentation at the regional SBL, and partly based on CVs and the development of a career trajectory.  Two scholars are chosen for the award from the 11 regional representatives.  As the winner of this SBL Scholar Award, Professor Boyd will present at the national SBL meeting in November regarding his work on the Book of Ezekiel.  More information about Professor Boyd and the SBL Scholar Award can be found here.
