MUSAS: An NSF Community Infrastructure Facility
The Mobile Uncrewed Systems for Atmospheric Science (MUSAS) facility is available to the diverse research and education community. MUSAS small uncrewed aircraft and ground vehicles offer opportunities to capture high quality, high resolution in-situ measurements of atmospheric processes in environments that may otherwise be too dangerous, monotonous, or challenging to sample.
MUSAS systems and personnel have supported a wide array of atmospheric research, including boundary layer processes, coastal circulations, aerosol processes, turbulence and turbulent fluxes, surface-atmosphere exchange, high-latitude environments, and severe weather.
Our Facilities are available for Track One, Track Two, or Track Three proposals, with Track Two being the most common. Please fill out our Initial Contact Request form and one of our Facility Directors will reach out to you for more information about your FIRP request.
