Amanda McCracken is a journalist and writing instructor passionate about experiences that highlight the intersection of wellness, travel, and relationships. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Guardian, Vogue, National Geographic, Elle, NPR, Outside, ESPN, SELF, Runner’s World, and many others. She currently teaches WRTG 1150, but she spent 15 years teaching a variety of classes at CU's International English Center. Her 2023 TEDx CU Talk, “How Longing Keeps Us From Healthy Relationships,” was a TED editors' pick. She is the author of the investigative memoir, When Longing Becomes Your Lover. When McCracken isn't teaching and writing, she's running trails or spending time with her husband and daughter.
