Michelle Smits serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Division of Public Safety, bringing over 15 years of experience leading transformative projects across public safety, education and telecommunications. Known for her strategic vision and ability to drive impact, Michelle has consistently delivered high-value initiatives in complex, mission-driven environments.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management of Information Systems from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in International Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University in the Netherlands. In addition to her academic achievements, Michelle is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and is fluent in both English and Dutch.
