GEOL

Jo Martin is a first year Ph.D. student at the University of Colorado Boulder geology department, working with Dr. Greg Tucker.  She is currently studying landscape evolution through the lenses of abstract mathematics, computational modeling, and machine learning.  Jo graduated from Oberlin College in 2016 with a BA in Geology.  After working on pedagogy and education at the intersection of earth and data science, she attended University of Vermont where she studied an obscure extremal problem in graph theory, and graduated with an MS in Mathematics.  Currently her interests lie at the intersection between chaos theory, hydrogeology, river geometry, and landsliding.
