J. Eliana Rodriguez Burgueño

Jesús Eliana Rodriguez Burgueño is a professor of Civil Engineering at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California in Mexicali, specializing in groundwater and surface water interactions. She is deputy director of the UABC Engineering Institute, where she leads the Water Resources and Geographic Information Systems laboratory. Professor Rodriguez Burgueño is a partner at Enviro Terra Soluciones S.C. and a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico.

Since 2008, she has collaborated with civil society associations, academia, private sector, and government in research on the Colorado River Delta region's underground and surface hydrology, wetlands, and transboundary waters. She is a member of the Binational Science Group and the Environmental Working Group of the US-Mexico International Boundary Waters Commission, serving as leader of hydrological monitoring for the implementation of Minute 323: Extension of Cooperative Measures and Adoption of a Binational Water Scarcity Contingency Plan in the Colorado River Basin
