Samuel Armistead
- Treasurer
- DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING

Sam is a researcher in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at CU Boulder. His research focuses on developing sustainable construction materials through bio-inspired materials science, high-throughput experimentation, and advanced manufacturing. In particular, he investigates how biological molecules interact with clays and other mineral surfaces to engineer stronger, more sustainable construction materials for terrestrial and extraterrestrial construction. As Treasurer, Sam supports PAC activities and initiatives that strengthen the postdoctoral community at CU Boulder. Outside of research, he enjoys socializing, live music, and playing and watching pretty much any sport.
