Sara Swain joined the OVA team October 2022 as the Office Assistant. Sara was promoted to Office Manager in August of 2023. As a buff, she received a BA in Leadership and Community Engagement, a BA in Ethnic Studies, a minor in Dance, and a certificate in Hip-hop Studies. She was the director of the street dance team VeRVE Collisionz on campus. Through this organization, she created and hosted a weekly seminar series that was free and open to the public that brought in mentors from the Hip-hop community to teach the history of different Hip-hop dance forms. Sara’s previous work experience includes various customer service roles with a goal of creating a warm and welcoming space.
Sara knows the important role art, creativity, and movement can play in healing and liberation. She feels deeply humbled and honored to interact with her CU community through OVA’s healing, empowering, and multicultural approaches to advocacy and counseling.
