Nana's Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Snowdrift (use Crisco or similar shortening)
- 3 cups sugar (we prefer 2 3/4 cups)
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 cup of milk
- 5 eggs
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- In your stand mixer, cream butter and shortening. Add sugar in 1/2 cup increments; cream well. Add flour and cocoa in 1/2 cup increments until incorporated. Add milk and eggs, one at a time. Add baking soda, salt, and vanilla. Beat well.
- Grease and flour a tube pan. (We use butter and cocoa.)
- Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.
