  • 1 stick room temperature butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Optional: 1/2 cup shelled walnuts or chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bread pan.
  • Gather two large bowls. One for dry and one for wet ingredients.
  • Mix the room temperature softened butter until creamy.
  • Add one egg at a time to the butter mixture and keep mixing until combined. Set aside.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda and salt together in a separate bowl.
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the butter and egg mixture.
  • Mash bananas and mix into the combined dry and wet mixture.
  • Add vanilla and/or nuts/chocolate chips.
  • Pour into bread tin and cook for 60 minutes uncovered.
  • Let sit for 15 minutes upon removal, then eat up!
