Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice (unbleached), alternative is Arborio
  • 2 cups of unsalted/low salt Chicken/Vegetable stock
  • Large handful of Manischewitz (or equivalent) fine egg noodles
  • Pepper/salt to taste

Directions

  • Place egg noodles into toaster oven at 325F for 3-5 minutes, until toasty brown. Alternative is to place noodles in pot and brown with unsalted butter or a few teaspoons of Avocado/Algae oil
  • Once noodles are brown, place into 2 qt (min) pot
  • Add stick and bring to boil
  • Add rice and leave at boil for 1 minute
  • Cover with paper towel and place lid on pot
  • Lower to simmer for 15 minutes and turn off
  • Move pot to separate burner for 5 minutes
  • Open and salt/pepper to taste
  • As a side, add shelled pinon or pine nuts.
