Ginger Bread Cookies
Ingredients
8 large gingerbread men
- 1/2 c. of butter softened
- 1/2 c of light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 c. of molasses
- 1/2 tbls apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2-1/2 c. of flour
- 1/2 tsp of baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tbls ground ginger
- 1/2 tbls ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Directions
- Combine the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl. Add the molasses, egg, vanilla extract and vinegar until fully combined.
- In another bowl, mix the remaining dry ingredients, including all of the spices.
- Add the contents of the two bowls together and mix until combined.
- Chill the dough for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and roll out your dough to 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out your cookies using your favorite cookie cutter (our favorite is a ninja!) and place 1 inch apart on a floured cookie sheet.
- Bake 8-10 minutes, cool on a rack, and decorate with your favorite icing!
