Butter Cookie with Pecan

Ingredients
Yields 12 cookies

  • 1 c. butter, room temperature
  • ¾ c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • pecan halves

Directions

  • Preheated 350°F oven
  • Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Sift in the flour and mix.
  • Chill dough for 1-2 hours.
  • Make one-inch balls. P
  • Roll in sugar and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten slightly.
  • Top with a large pecan half.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes but watch closely watch closely so that they don't turn brown.
  • Let cool on the sheet pan for five minutes and finish cooling on a rack.
