International Partnerships
Reciprocal affiliations
CU Boulder currently has formal, reciprocal agreements with a number of overseas institutions. These affiliations have been formalized by one of the following types of agreements:
- Honorary Memoranda of Understanding
- Cooperative Research Memoranda of Understanding
- Dual Degree Agreement
- X+Y Degree Program Agreement
- Strategic Partnership Agreement
- Student Exchange Agreement
The full list of our current international partnerships can be viewed here:
An explanation of the different types of agreements and information about how to initiate an agreement can be found here:
Note: International Education is the central repository for exchange agreements and international memoranda of understanding. This hasn't always been the case in the past. If you know of any arrangements that are not included on these lists, please inform our office and we will update our information (oie@colorado.edu; phone: 303-492-7741).
Student Exchange Programs
Student exchange programs are a particular kind of partnership that involves sending and receiving equal numbers of students to and from each exchange partner.

Affiliations via education abroad programs
Education abroad affiliations: CU Boulder also has a number of overseas affiliations through its non-exchange education abroad programs. These are universities that CU Boulder students may attend on an education abroad program but with which we do not have formal exchange agreements. A full list of official CU Boulder education abroad programs, including those not based at a foreign institution, can be found on the Education Abroad programs search.
