Sachi Hashimoto joins the Math Department

Sachi Hashimoto
The department is pleased to welcome Dr. Sachi Hashimoto as the new Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics.  Dr. Hashimoto received her PhD from Boston University in 2022.  After that, she spent one year at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, followed by three years at Brown University.

Dr. Hashimoto studies arithmetic geometry from a computational point of view. She is interested in the interplay between arithmetic questions, like, how can we find all the rational solutions to a polynomial equation, and their geometric properties, like the geometry of the solution set; she investigates these questions in particular using computer algebra systems.
