From Mickey

To Noah,

I have known you for what will be three full years come July. We first met during PEAC of 2017 and have been great friends ever since. It’s too bad I can’t see you off in person, but it’s not like we’ll never see each other again so it’s fine.

I knew from when you first decided to sit with me at breakfast during PEAC that we were going to be great friends all through our undergraduate education. I guess I was a little off since you’re graduating a year early. I’m not surprised, though. Ever since I’ve known you, it was clear that you had a plan and knew what to do to make it come true. You hit the ground running your first semester.  You knew exactly what you were doing and exactly what you had to do next, and you never let up that pace. You were always thinking more than a couple steps ahead of where you were standing, both academically and professionally, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

You weren’t a super professional all the time, though. You definitely knew how and when to kick back. That’s why you made the Denver Nuggets Appreciation Club. It was pretty awesome to see it grow from an idea to getting funding to even packing a conference room with people to watch a nuggets game. It’s too bad you won’t be here to see it keep growing, but now that the succession of the club is figured out there’s nothing to worry about. There were some great perks in being a part of the club: freshly made pancakes, university-paid pizza, and discounted tickets to games. At the end of the day, it was all because of you that the club was possible. From making the idea to working to make it an official club to even being president of the club on top of everything else you were doing. I’d say I’m surprised, but I’ve known you long enough to know that there’s not much that you can’t handle.

All in all, I just want you to know that it’s not going to be the same without you.  Both the club and the MASP office will feel a little bit emptier without you there, but I know you’ll be on to bigger and better things sooner rather than later. I don’t know where your next steps are going to land, but I do know that wherever you decide to go, whatever you decide to do, whatever path you decide to take, you’ll go above and beyond anyone’s expectations. I am proud to say that I’m your friend.

Thank you for the great three years,
Micklaus
