Tomas Remotigue
- Head of Shopping Support Tools & Engineering, Google
I'm currently leading a team of engineers working on developing support tools and process automation solutions for businesses on Google Shopping and Google Maps.
Prior to Google, I worked for several technology startups in the San Francisco Bay Area. I joined Google in Mountain View in 2005, and have since worked in a variety of positions across different teams and products, both as
an individual contributor and leader, and served in technical and non-technical roles. I'm an active career coach to other Google employees, am part of our Black+/LatinX mentor program, and get a lot of satisfaction helping people navigate their careers, maximize their potential, and balance work and life.
We relocated from the Bay Area to Longmont in 2018. I’m married with 2 daughters, the oldest a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
My advice to students...
Relationships matter. Focus not only on the "what", but the "so what". Learn to tell a compelling story. Work and life need to be in balance, but what it looks like will change over time. Figure out both what you're good at, but why you're good at it.
