Volunteers develop sustainable solutions to address challenges in education, health, community economic development, agriculture, the environment and youth development.
Through their Peace Corps experience, volunteers gain a unique cultural understanding and a life-long commitment to service that positions them to succeed in today’s global economy.
Since President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps in 1961, more than 240,000 Americans of all ages have served in over 160 countries worldwide. - Every year, an undergraduate student who demonstrates exemplary leadership is nominated for Campus Compact’s Newman Civic Fellowship, which supports student leaders who show great potential for tackling human rights and social justice issues. This year, the Center for Leadership’s own Anastasia Gallegos-Roque is one of the recipients. She is studying sociology and ethnic studies on a pre-law track with a minor in journalism and multicultural leadership. Gallegos-Roque was nominated by the Center for Leadership and Chancellor Schwartz.

- Are you ready to take your leadership journey to the next level? The Boulder-CU Leadership Program (BCLP) pairs CU Boulder students one-on-one with distinguished leaders from across our community. This is your opportunity to learn directly from those shaping our world—leaders like the Mayor of Boulder, a world-renowned opera singer, executives, entrepreneurs, nonprofit directors, healthcare professionals, and many more.
BCLP isn’t about choosing a career path, it’s about growing as a leader in life. Through meaningful conversations, you’ll gain new perspectives, build confidence, and develop the skills to lead yourself, lead others, and lead change.
Running from October to April, the program requires just 1–2 hours a month with your mentor. That time could look like grabbing coffee, going on a hike, or even shadowing them at work. Along the way, you’ll receive training, resources, and tools to guide your experience.
