James (Jim) Helgoth Headshot

I graduated from CU Business School, BS Cum Laude, May, 1977. I received my CPA Certificate from the State of Colorado March 1979.  I was employed at a local Denver based CPA firm from June 1977 to October 1979 achieving senior auditor. In October 1979, I accepted an offer from a client. It was a family business (not my family.) By 1992, I was president and by 2003 the Company was  converted to a 100% ESOP with notes to 2nd generation family member and two key employees. The notes were paid off by the time of my retirement. I am one of the Bolder Boulder Boldest. A small group that has run every Bolder Boulder since 1979.

My advice to students...

While rare, a career with one company can be rewarding on many levels. You build long term relationships with employees, customers and business professionals. When company control is within the company the ability to have a work/life balance is greatly enhanced.
