A Queer Endeavor is a nationally recognized center for gender and sexual diversity in education. We build partnerships with districts and school communities to create safer, more humanizing spaces in which LGBTQ+ youth, families, and staff can thrive. Position
This position is a paid, part-time internship. It requires approximately 60 hours of work throughout Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Salary is $16.00 an hour.
This CU undergraduate student position involves working with A Queer Endeavor (AQE), a center housed in the School of Education. Along with undergrads,our team will include faculty, staff, and graduate students. In this position, students will focus on House Bill 19-1192: Inclusion Of American Minorities(sic) In Teaching Civil Government which required revisions to the Social Studies standards in Colorado. As a team, we will focus on the standards particularly as they apply to Latinx LGBTQ+ Coloradans and CO history. The student researchers will lead this slice of the project. Read more here.
Responsibilities
- Cultivating critical community as a team
- Research + archival work
- Outreach, including interviews
- Bringing queer, anti-racist, anti-oppressive lenses to the standards to create sample lessons
- Teach-ins: scholars and community organizers

- Interested in archival work and interviews
