Mikaela Felix is a first year PhD student at the University of Colorado, Boulder and an NSF GRFP fellow. She received her bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and minor in Computer Science at CU Boulder. During her time there, she conducted research under Dr. Hanspeter Schaub on simulating aerocapture in Basilisk, an open-source astrodynamics framework. She presented a poster on this research at the International Planetary Probe Workshop (IPPW) in 2022. She plans to continue working on research in aerocapture, specifically performing experimental work and modeling aerocapture at Venus.
