- MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Arvind Kumar Gupta is a Robotics Engineer (Postdoctoral Associate) at Paul M. Rady School of Mechanical Engineering, CU Boulder. He is expertising in bio-inspired robotics.
He holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning and IoT from IIT Kharagpur (2018-2022) and an MS(Research) in Embedded Systems and IoT (2015-2018) from the same institution. He also completed his B.Tech. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (2009-2013).
He began research journey at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, his doctoral research focused on developing IoT-enabled systems for the detection of series arc-faults and unauthorized connections in distribution networks. This work involved the application of machine learning and signal processing techniques to analyze sensor data and identify anomalies in real-time.
After completing his PhD, he joined as a Research Fellow at Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU Singapore where he designed low-power backpacks for insect cyborgs and developed algorithms for localization.
He has over eight years of experience in research and development related to machine learning, IoT, embedded systems, and signal processing. His experience includes designing and developing low-power embedded systems for real-time applications, implementing machine learning algorithms on edge devices, and designing IoT frameworks for data communication. He is proficient in a wide range of hardware and software tools including Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, and PCB design, as well as software development with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and machine learning frameworks. His passion for innovation and commitment to excellence drive him to continually explore new frontiers in robotics and related fields.
