Principal Investigator
Rosie Cowell, PhD
Associate Professor, Institute of Cognitive Science
Rosie received her PhD from the University of Oxford, UK. She was a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Amherst before joining CU Boulder in 2023. She is trained in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience, and uses techniques including behavioral experiments, brain imaging (fMRI) and computational modeling.
Graduate Students
Jenn Gove
PhD Student, Department of Psychology & Neuroscience
Jenn received her BS in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She joined CU Boulder as a PhD student in Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience in 2023. She is interested in visual perception and memory, particularly in regions of the medial temporal lobe, and plans to explore this with behavioral experiments and brain imaging techniques.
Kate Walsh
PhD Student, Department of Psychology & Neuroscience
Kate is a PhD student interested in utilizing neuroimaging techniques and computational models to investigate the mechanisms of memory and visual perception. Prior to joining the lab in 2023, Kate received her BA in Neuroscience and Digital and Computational Studies from Bowdoin College. Her current project involves using behavioral tests and neuroimaging to better understand the processes of visual pattern completion.
Carlin Pendell
PhD Student, Department of Psychology & Neuroscience
Carlin joined the Psychology and Neuroscience department at CU Boulder in 2024 with plans to research the effects of brain injury, aging, and disease on hippocampal-dependent memory mechanisms. Before joining the lab, Carlin earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and worked as a research assistant in the Michigan Concussion Center.
Lab Affiliates
Members of the CMAP lab work closely with the CEMNL lab at CU Boulder. Members of the CEMNL lab include:
Dave Huber, PhD (Principal Investigator)
Professor, Psychology and Neuroscience
Dave received his PhD from the University of Indiana. He was a faculty member at U. Maryland, UCSD, and U. Massachusetts, before joining CU Boulder in 2023. He is trained in mathematical modeling, cognitive experiments and brain imaging techniques to investigate perception, memory, and attention.
Sriti
PhD Student, Psychology and Neuroscience
Sriti completed her Masters in Cognitive Studies at the University of Sheffield in 2022 and joined CU boulder as a graduate student in 2023. She is interested in researching modelling techniques to understand memory and attention.
