Tova Cohen
- JEWISH STUDIES 2014

Tova graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies and Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. During her time with Jewish Studies, Tova took advantage of the service learning opportunities offered through the Internship in Jewish Studies (JWST 3930) course. Tova served as an intern with Congressman Jared Polis' office. One of her major career objectives is to use public policy to contribute to improving the United States and the world. Tova states, "Interning in Jared Polis' office has provided me with excellent connections, experience in constituent services, and an important perspective of the reality of the United States government which is very useful in considering my exact career goals."
Tova was attracted to the Program in Jewish Studies' emphasis on values such as tikkun olam (repair the world), the one-on-one attention provided to students by professors, the internship program, and the opportunity to take cross-listed courses. She has participated in programs such as Young Judaea Year Course, Cornerstone Fellowship on Experiential Education, and has worked at Camp Tel Yehudah as a counselor, program writer, and experiential education fellow.
Tova is currently serving a one year internship with Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel where she is dissiminating the center's research to the American social media world and policy makers. Tova said she received this internship after showing the center her impressive Capstone Project, a paper entitled "Asylum in the Holy Land: An assessment of the political processes surrounding African refugees in Israel."
