Shane Ball

Shane Ball is in his final year at CU Boulder, where he studies Economics and History with minors in Jewish Studies and Leadership Studies. He appreciates the interdisciplinary and creative intellectual community within the Program in Jewish Studies. Shane has taken Jewish Studies courses and traveled to Israel/Palestine through a Jewish Studies Global Intensive course.

His Economics Honors Thesis studies the educational and political effects of a family planning, maternal health and child health program in Bangladesh. Shane’s Jewish Studies Capstone Project explored the political uses of Holocaust denial by American right-wing extremist groups. Shane is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and has been awarded the Barry and Sue Baer Undergraduate Scholarship. He serves in the College of Arts & Sciences JEDI Community of Practice and has interned at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.

Shane grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, but will return to his home state of California in the fall to attend UCLA School of Law on a full-tuition merit scholarship. In his free time, you can find him snowboarding, hiking, or reading nonfiction or Russian, Polish, British, or American literature
